Roselia Tweed Thomas Johnson

          Mrs. Roselia Tweed Thomas Johnson, age 74, of Fayetteville, NC passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at home.

A memorial service will be held at Grace Place Christian Church, 3874 South Main Street in Hope Mills, NC on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 1:00 pm.

She leaves behind her husband, Arthur L. Johnson; four children: Teinnette Taylor (William), Linoshka Johnston (Lynn), Monique Johnson, and Cal Johnson (Kiyoko); a grandson, Carrington McCall,  15 grands, 6 great-grands, a large number of family members and friends across the US, Panama, and the globe as a result of her multiple military (spousal) assignments.

Roselia, my wife, companion, and beloved friend for over 46 years enriched my life. Roselia aka Rose, Rosa, Sita, and Pumpkin was born to Mrs. Inez Alicia Thomas and Mr. Golbert Napoleon Tweed on 3 September 1949. She grew up in Colon, Republic of Panama amongst a loving family and beautiful people. She was fluent in Spanish and English and dabbled with Tagalog, Taiwanese, and Chamorro. She openly embraced a multiplicity of people and cultures which allowed her to readily gain employment as a valued team member. She started work at an early age to support and provide for her family. Most of her work career was with The Army and Air Force Exchange (PX/BX) and K-Mart until her medical disability retirement in 2007. Her work never stopped her from being both a devoted wife and mother. Roselia worked with enthusiasm to support church activities to constantly improve her spiritual growth. In early childhood she attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church with her mother and the Catholic Mass on Sundays with her father.

We married on the 13^th of November 1976. She moved to the US and joined several Christian churches in a variety of states. At the time of her transition, 19 September 2023, she was a member of Grace Place Christian Church. She attended church until the late stages of dementia. And she still prayed for a healing. Her prayers were answered beyond my understanding. She fought a good fight. As a pugilist, you couldn’t find a more tenacious warrior to be by your side. She would leave no stone unturned, or head unbruised to defend her own. She made sure that I was prepared to put my best self forward to advance my career by ensuring that my uniforms were impeccable, battling and managing weight gain, and promoted learning to show myself approved. She was my demonstrative helpmate. Whatever successes that I had, she played a consequential part.

The family requests that flowers be sent to the church, Grace Place Christian Church, 3784 South Main Street, Hope Mills, NC 28348  on Saturday, September 30, 2023 between the hours of 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
