Lewis "Buck" Williams

Deacon Lewis “Buck” Williams, age 97, of Rose Hill, NC passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Mary Gran Nursing Center in Clinton, NC.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 10:00 am to 10:45 am at Byrd’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Rose Hill, NC followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Duplin Memorial Gardens, Hwy 117 in Teachey, NC.

Left to cherish his precious memories: wife, Essie Mae Williams; of over 70 years;   sister, Regina Kenan “Tang” of Rose Hill, NC; daughters: Barbara McLean (Charles) of Raleigh, NC, Wilma Vann (Donald) of Bowie, MD and Wanda D. Williams of Brandywine, MD; son, Lewis Edward Williams (Celestine) of Goldsboro, NC. In addition, he has ten grandchildren; Donald R. Vann II (Tamatha) of Morrisville, NC, Lewis A. Williams of Goldsboro, NC, Dr. Sharon L. Williams of Roanoke, VA, Gregory L. Vann of Bowie, MD, Lionel M. Williams (Kamala Lee) of Roanoke, VA, Chivalry Moore of Durham, NC, Lamar Newkirk of Franklinton, NC, Joshua C. Williams of Brandywine MD, Stephanie Calhoun of Gastonia NC, and Tonya Prince (Ronald) of Bowie, MD. In addition, he is survived by two sisters-in-law: Mary Alice Ingram of Vacaville, CA and Alice Williams of Rose Hill, NC. He also has several great and great-great, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and too many beloved cousins and friends to name, that will miss him dearly.
